Educational Opportunity Program Career Preparation

EOP works under the fundamental belief that higher education necessarily leads to a career that can break the cycle of poverty for our students and their communities.

Degrees to Careers

The Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) at 乐播传媒app最新版本 understands that all students pursuing a degree do so with the intent of gaining employment in a career that aligns with their interests, goals, and values. Thus, it necessarily follows that enrollment at the University--from the first day of Summer Bridge or Fall semester until Commencement with a Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral degree--is career preparation.

Our mission is to ensure that our students not only graduate, but also engage with post-baccalaureate educational opportunities, participate in job skills training and major selection workshops, and connect with internship opportunities. As our population is the first generation in their families to achieve Bachelor's degrees, they are also most likely the first generation in their families to connect with a career that requires a four-year degree for entrance, promotion, and tenure.

In addition to required coursework in the Summer Bridge Program, our new admits are required (as part of their New Admit Agreement) to also engage with the counseling staff in the Center for Career Education and Community Engagement (CECE). CECE offers comprehensive career counseling services, job postings, and community service opportunities, and their staff members work directly with our students to explore their educational and career plans, helping them create an academic- and community-oriented professional road map for success.

Our partnership is founded on the resolute belief that service learning, internships, job training, volunteerism, and other forms of community engagement are vital for our students' personal growth and ultimate success.
