Candidates are recruited and supported in all educator preparation programs to ensure their success.
The missions of both the University and the College of Social Sciences and Education
provide the foundation for the EPP鈥檚 approach to developing equitable educational

developed to allow the education leadership team opportunities to discuss and plan
for clear programmatic and operational support for all aspects of candidate recruitment

diversity and alignment with the local communities they serve. For our preliminary credential programs, undergraduate pathways IBEST for multiple subjects and ITEP for special education credentials provide early access to undergraduates preparing
for careers in education. We have five subject matter waiver programs to provide pathways
for single subject students (Art, English, Math, Social Sciences, and World Languages: Spanish). Representatives from each undergraduate program are members of the university Teacher
Education Advisory Council (TEAC). Collaborative efforts between the undergraduate
advisors and credential advisors allow for consistency in the pathways for applicants
and admitted candidates. Programs leading to an advanced credential or an added authorization follow a similar
pathway to advise and assist candidates. Information sessions are held each semester
to provide program guidance and support the application process. Admission committees
meet regularly to review applications and determine admission status. The admission
advisors send an admission status email to each applicant. Applicants may be fully
admitted, conditionally admitted, exceptionally admitted, or denied admission. Applicants
without full application submission packets are placed on hold and advised as to next
steps by the admissions advisor. Programs provide orientation for new candidates and offer the opportunity to meet
with their advisor and connect with the placement coordinator to facilitate ease of
course registration and clinical practice placements. During the program, faculty
and staff are available via email, in-person, and during Zoom office hours. Faculty
advisors for each program connect with candidates to complete and revise program plans
and provide support. Each campus has a clinical practice coordinator who handles district
placements and communicates directly with each candidate. University supervisors serve
as the primary contact for candidates while in clinical practice placements. If a
candidate is struggling in their program, an is created and additional support and guidance is provided to the candidate by the
faculty member and program director. Candidates needing additional support and guidance
while completing the CalAPA or CalTPA many contact the APA/TPA Coordinator for additional
support as needed. Completion of all credential requirements is verified at the program level by the
admissions advisor. Candidates are contacted during their final term via email to
confirm completion or to advise the candidate regarding any missing requirements.
Candidates are advised to submit their completed applications to the credential analyst
for final verification and recommendation for their appropriate credential. EPP unit surveys are conducted during the first and final term of a candidate鈥檚 tenure
in their respective program. Data from the are shared with the programs and during EPP meetings. Best practices are discussed
between programs to improve recruitment, advising, and support. Based on SB-820 flexibilities for educator credentialing, collaboration and support

new teacher retention and Induction programs, 乐播传媒app最新版本 faculty and administrators offered
